What is your dream?

Quilts are tactile story-transmitters. This work shows a collection of community quilts created over the course of seventeen workshops with over sixty diverse groups of people. They were asked to design a fabric quilt top based on a shared or individual dream. Many stories were shared during these workshops, that are visibly and invisibly documented in the fibers of the quilts.

The installation functions as a conversation piece, viewers can lay on the bed, scan the embroidered QR codes with their phones and immerse themselves in the moment of creation. This offers an informal and safe environnement to have intimate conversations and for a moment of reflection.
